CDL Transfer Driver

Position Details

Total Disposal is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Waste Transfer Truck Driver to join our growing team. In this role, the driver will be responsible for transporting waste materials from our transfer station to designated landfill locations in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. The position requires operating company vehicles in compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all paperwork and forms as required by company policies and DOT regulations
  • Drive a CMV up to legal limits allowed (as regulated by DOT) and may require Saturday work
  • Responsible for the safe operation of the truck including pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Communicate professionally with customers and report any customer issues / complaints to appropriate internal contacts
  • Ensure truck cab and body are clean
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable company and governmental regulations
  • Assist in loading and unloading the trailer

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL with airbrakes endorsement
  • One (1) year of experience within the past two (2) years in a CMV (Commercial Motor Vehicle) with a GVWR of over 26,001 pounds
  • Experience with hydraulic systems
  • Experience with a manual transmission
  • Must be 25 years of age or older (per DOT requirements)
  • Must be able to read and write English (per DOT requirements)
  • Successfully pass pre-employment background investigation, drug screen, motor vehicle records check, DOT physical and human performance examination
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to get in and out of the truck repeatedly throughout the workday
