Bookkeeper

Position Details


Total Disposal is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper/Accountant to manage financial records and transactions. This role is critical in ensuring accurate accounting, compliance with regulations, and smooth financial operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities


  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Process monthly customer billing.
  • Process invoices, receipts, and payments in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Track and report on operational expenses, fuel costs, and equipment maintenance budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to waste management and financial reporting.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for financial documents and records.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accountant (preferably in waste management, logistics, or similar industry).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Intuit) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with vendors, customers, and internal teams.

Preferred Skills


  • Knowledge of waste management industry operations and cost structures.
  • Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance reporting.
